They're uncomfortable, too tight or won't stay put
Usually the headband length or the earcup position. A minute of adjusting fixes most of it, and new headphones loosen up a little with wear.
- Put them on with the L cup on your left ear and the R cup on your right.
- Adjust the headband. Slide each earcup up or down along the band until the cushions sit centered over your ears and the top of the band rests lightly on your head.
- Check the cushions surround your ears rather than pressing on them. If the top of your ear is squashed, lengthen the band a little.
- Move your head. They should stay put without squeezing.
- Cushions: memory foam molds to your ears over the first few wears. If they feel firm at first, give them a few sessions.
- Feel tight at first? New headphones are firm. The band usually eases a little over the first week of wear.
- Wear glasses? Put your glasses on first, then the headphones, and settle the cushions over the arms.
